If you previously filed 1099-Misc with Box 7 completed, you may need to file the 1099-NEC. See the four conditions for NEC below. More than 70% of filers in 2019 reported information in Box 7 of form 1099-Misc. This year, the IRS is requiring those filers to user form 1099-NEC instead of 1099-Misc. If you need to report non-employee compensation for the tax year 2020 you will need form 1099-NEC.

If the following four conditions are met, you must generally report a payment as NEC.
§ You made the payment to someone who is not your employee § You made the payment for services in the course of your trade of business (including government agencies and nonprofit organizations). § You made the payment to an individual, partnership, estate, or, in some cases, a corporation. § You made payments to the payee of at least $600 during the year.
Forms are 3-up on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet with no side perforation and are printed on 20# laser paper. Order the quantity equal to the number of employees for which you need to file.
Use the 1099-NEC Copy A to print and mail payment information to the IRS. Forms are printed with required red scannable ink. Mail in a batch to the IRS.
Use the 1099-NEC Copy B to print and mail payment information to the recipient (payee) for submission with their federal tax return. Mail in envelope #RDWENV05.
Use the 1099-NEC Copy C for Payer files. Mail in envelope #RDWENV05.

Blank 1-up Top Marble Laser Check Each 8 1/2" x 11" sheet contains 1 top check and 2 stubs, constructed of 24# paper. These laser checks do NOT include a signature line. Measuring from the top down the check portion is 3.5" high. The 1st stub begins at 3.5" and is 3.75" high. The 2nd stub begins at 7.25" and measures 3.75" in height. There is a 1/2" blank margin on the bottom of the check portion for a MICR line. These are blank checks, your software must be able to print MICR encoding. Indicate color choice below.
